We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Academic Administrator to join our Academic Administration team on a fixed-term, one-year contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the heart of academic operations within a highly creative and collaborative environment. This position is based on our Pukeahu campus in Wellington.
Ngā kawenga | What you will do
As the Senior Academic Administrator, you will:
- Oversee and support academic portfolio operations using systems like SMS and CMS.
- Provide high-level administrative support across academic programme delivery, student progress, governance, and quality assurance processes.
- Be a key liaison point for staff, students, and committees – ensuring timely, accurate, and student-focused administrative outcomes.
- Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to academic administration colleagues.
- Champion continuous improvement, digital fluency, and service excellence within a future-focused university.

- Has significant experience in academic administration (preferably in tertiary education).
- Is highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and an ability to manage complexity and competing priorities.
- Communicates clearly and professionally across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrates maturity, discretion, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Is motivated, collaborative, and committed to service excellence.
- Understands the relevance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and values the diverse communities we serve.
